Offside is a 2006 Persian-language Comedy Drama motion picture written by Jafar Panahi and Shadmehr Rastin. The movie is directed by Jafar Panahi. Offside is about a group of Iranian girls who attempts to enter Tehran's Azadi Stadium dressed as boys in order to watch a big football match but some get caught and arrested. After the establishment of the Islamic Republic in Iran, women are not allowed to enter the stadiums. Written by Kaaveh. Offside stars Shima Mobarak-shahi in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Safar Samandar, Shayesteh Irani, Ayda Sadeqi, Golnaz Farmani, Mohsen Tanabandeh and Mohammad Asarian.
