Roxanne is a 1987 English-language Comedy Romance movie directed by Fred Schepisi and produced by Michael I. Rachmil and Daniel Melnick. In Nelson, the chief of the firemen C. D. Bales is a man with complex since he has a huge nose. When his friend Dixie rents her house to the gorgeous student of astronomy Roxanne, he falls in love with her but keeps his feelings as a secret. C.D. hires the handsome fireman Chris and Roxanne asks C.D. to help her to date him. However Chris is an average American with very limited culture and he asks C.D. to help him to get in her pants. C.D. writes letters disclosing his feelings for her and Roxanne is seduced by the man that writes such letters. What will happen when she meets Chris? Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Roxanne stars Steve Martin in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Daryl Hannah, Shelley Duvall, Rick Rossovich, Fred Willard, Michael J. Pollard and John Kapelos. The screenplay is written by Steve Martin which is inspired from Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand. The music was composed by Bruce Smeaton. Cinematography was done by Ian Baker and editing by John Scott. The movie has a running time of 107 minutes. It was released on 19th June 1987 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Roxanne was made on a budget of $12 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million.
