Sahara is a 1983 English-language Adventure Drama motion picture written by James R. Silke and directed by Andrew Mclaglen and produced by Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus under the banner of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in collaboration with Golan-Globus and Cannon Group. Sahara stars Brooke Shields in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Lambert Wilson, Horst Buchholz, John Rhys-davies, Ronald Lacey, John Mills and Cliff Potts. The music was composed by Ennio Morricone. Cinematography was done by David Gurfinkel and Armando Nannuzzi and editing by Michael John Bateman and Michael J. Duthie. The movie has a running time of 111 minutes. It was released on 8th December 1983. Sahara was made on a budget of $25 million and at the box office it grossed only $8 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by MGM/UA Entertainment Co.
