Shaitan is a 2011 Hindi-language Action Crime film written by Abhijeet Deshpande, K.s. Krishnan, Bejoy Nambiar, Megha Ramaswamy and Colin Terrence. The movie is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Sunil Bohra, Guneet Monga and Anurag Kashyap under the banner of AKFPL in collaboration with Getaway Films. Five substance-abusing friends decide to fake a kidnapping in order to bribe a police constable for covering-up a hit-and-run accident. Shaitan features Rajit Kapoor in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Rajeev Khandelwal, Kalki Koechlin, Pawan Malhotra, Shiv Panditt, Gulshan Devaiya and Neil Bhoopalam. The screenplay is written by Megha Ramaswamy and Bejoy Nambiar. The music was composed by Prashant Pillai along with Amar Mohile, Ranjit Barot and Anupam Roy. Cinematography was done by R. Madhi and editing by Sreekar Prasad. The film has a running time of 121 minutes. It was released on 10th June 2011. Shaitan was made on a budget of ₹12 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹8 crore. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
