The Court Dancer: Raj Narkati is a 1941 Hindi-language Drama movie written by Manmath Ray and directed by Modhu Bose and produced by Wadia Movietone. In Manipur, in the early years of the 19th century, graceful and enchanting court dancer Indrani has captured the heart of Prince Chandrakirti. However, Indrani is looked down upon because of her low social standing and turned away when she tries to enter the city temple. She ks solace in a crumbling temple, where all are welcome. Meanwhile, Prince Chandra comes under pressure to marry the princess of a neighboring land and secure a peace treaty for his kingdom. Written by L. Hamre. The court dancer: raj narkati stars Sadhona Bose, Prithviraj Kapoor, Protima Das Gupta, Jal Khambata, Protima Dasgupta, Binita Gupta and Jyoti Prakash. The music was composed by Timir Baran. Cinematography was done by Jyotin Das and Probodh and editing by Shyam Das. It was released on 1st January 1941 in Hindi,English and Bengali languages.
