The Knockout is a 1914 English-language Comedy film directed by Charles Avery and produced by Mack Sennett under the banner of Keystone Studios. A couple of tramps, down on their luck and hungry, decide to fake an exhibition boxing match for a promoter. Meanwhile, Pug, a good-hearted but boisterous fellow, takes on a gang of mashers who make unwanted advances to his girlfriend. Impressed by his abilities, the mashers decide to pass Pug off as Cyclone Flynn, the champion, and enter him in the boxing match. But the real Cyclone shows up, and he and Pug battle it out in the ring. Soon the fight progresses to include pistols, rooftop chases, and the Keystone Kops in hot pursuit. Written by Jim Beaver. The knockout stars Roscoe 'fatty' Arbuckle in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Minta Durfee, Edgar Kennedy, Charles Chaplin, Frank Opperman, Al St. John and Hank Mann. Cinematography was done by Frank D. Williams. The film has a running time of 27 minutes. It was released on 11th June 1914 in Silent film and English languages. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Mutual Film.
