Gangavathi is a town and a municipal council in Koppal district in the state of Karnataka, India. Gangavathi is located at 1526N 7632E / 15.43N 76.53E / 15.43; 76.53. It has an average elevation of 406m (1332ft). Gangavathi is an important commercial centre. Since it is situated close to Tungabhadra dam.
