Karera is a town and a nagar panchayat in Shivpuri district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Karera is located at 2528N 7809E / 25.47N 78.15E / 25.47; 78.15. It has an average elevation of 305metres (1000feet). It is the beautiful town in central India. there are lots of old temple and historical places. As of 2001 India census, Karera had a population of 23,491. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Karera has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 54%. In Karera, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
