Kasganj (Hindi ) is a city and a district headquarters of Kanshi Ram Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Kasganj is located at 2749N 7839E / 27.82N 78.65E / 27.82; 78.65. It has an average elevation of 177metres (580feet). Situated on the banks of river Kali, the town is in proximity of the Himalayas foothills. It is located in the Doab, the area between the holy rivers Ganges and Yamuna and the alluvium soil makes the land one of the most fertile regions. This is testified by the large number of settlements in the form of villages around the town where the village population chiefly depends on agriculture and related economic activities.
