Lalgola (Bengali: ) is a small town situated near the Bangladesh border in the sub-division of Lalbagh in the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal. It is situated about 225 kilometres (140mi) north of Kolkata, near the head of the Ganges delta. It is a terminal railway station on the Lalgola Branch Line. Lalgola is surrounded by a number of large and small lakes, small temples and mosques. It is the site of the Lalgola Open Air Correctional Home. Before Independence and the partition of India, the area was an important business hub. However, its importance declined after it became a border town.
