Mundargi is a municipal town in Gadag district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Mundargi is close to two district headquarters, being about 36kilometres (22mi) from Gadag and around 50kilometres (31mi) from Koppal. The name 'Mundargi' came from the hill-station Mrudagiri, meaning 'Hill of Shiva'. The river Tungabhadra flows about 7kilometres (4.3mi) from Mundargi, and provides water for the town.
