Parvathipuram (Telugu: o; also spelled as Parvateepuram) is a town, Municipality and Division in Vizianagaram district in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Parvathipuram is located at 1846'N 8325'E. It has an average elevation of 120 metres (396feet). According to 1901 statistics, Parvathipuram Tahsil had an area of 799 square miles (2,070km) containing 498 villages. It was all Zamindari land partly belonging to the Belgam and Parvathipuram estates and partly to the Zamindars of Kurupam, Sangamvalsa and Merangi. Parvatipuram Tahsil has a population of 1,60,523 in 1901 compared to 1,57,014 in 1891. The Parvathipuram town had a population of 17,308 in 1901. As of 2001 India census, Parvathipuram had a population of 49,692. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%.
