Peroorkada is a residential locality in the Municipal Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram (previously Trivandrum) in the state of Kerala, India, It is located 7 km, north east, from Thiruvananthapuram Central Bus Station and on the way to Nedumangad and Ponmudi. Roads from Mannanthala, Vattiyoorkavu, Nedumangad and Ambalamukku meet at Peroorkada. Once a village, Peroorkada has seen rapid development over the last four decades with the setting up of a hospitals, shopping complexes and petrol pumps. Now Thiruvananthapuram District collectors office have been shifted near to this locality named kudappanakunnu. This area is now the Ward 31 of the Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram and the elected Ward member is Prof. Chandra. J. Peroorkada was earlier known as Maruthanmoodu after a giant Maruthan tree located in the town's center. Maruthanmoodu later acquired the name "Peroorkada" from the nearby town, which itself was named after a holy shrine, the Peroor Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, located there. Later the location of the shrine acquired a new title, Ambalamukku, and so the town.
