Senur has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 51%. In Senur, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. Angallamman Temple of over century old is situated in Senur. More than 300 years old Siva temple is also situated . On every prathoshams poojas are held in Siva temple. Mayanakkolai festival celebrated at the grave yards located at the bank of river Palar is the main festival celebrated by the Senurians.
