Simdega is a settlement in India, a District Headquarters of the Simdega District to the state of Jharkhand. It is close to the capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi and the Steel city Rourkela,Orissa. Simdega is located at 2237N 8431E / 22.62N 84.52E / 22.62; 84.52. It has an average elevation of 418metres (1371feet). Simdega falls under the erstwhile Biru kingdom of yesteryear.
