BIOGRAPHY

Susan Alexandra Weaver professionally known as Sigourney Weaver made her debut as an actor in the film Annie Hall (1977). It was in 1979 she got her breakthrough role as an actor with the movie Alien which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Weaver at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Saturn Award for Best Actress for Aliens which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Weavers career so far are Gorillas in the Mist (1988), Working Girl (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989), The Ice Storm (1997), Galaxy Quest (1999), Holes (2003), WALL-E (2008), Avatar (2009), Prayers for Bobby (2009), Paul (2011), The Cabin in the Woods (2012), and A Monster Calls (2016) to name a few. Susan Alexandra Weaver, daughter of actress Elizabeth Inglis and American television executive Sylvester Weaver was born on October 8, 1949, in the Manhattan borough of New York City. She attended the Ethel Walker School, in Simsbury, Connecticut, the Chapin School and Brearley School in Manhattan. She then attended Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, and graduated with a BA in English from Stanford University in 1972. She then pursued her Masters degree in Fine Arts from Yale Universitys School of Drama in 1974.
