BIOGRAPHY

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks professionally known as Tom Hanks made his debut as an actor in the film He Knows Youre Alone (1980). It was in 1984 he rose to fame with the film Splash which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Saturn Awards for Best Actor for Big which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Hanks career so far areSplash (1984), Big (1988), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Forrest Gump (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Youve Got Mail (1998), The Green Mile (1999), Cast Away (2000), Road to Perdition (2002), Catch Me If You Can (2002), The Terminal (2004), Cloud Atlas (2012), Saving Mr. Banks (2013), Captain Phillips (2013), Bridge of Spies (2015), Sully (2016) The Post (2017), and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) to name a few. Hanks son of Janet Marylyn and Amos Mefford Hanks on born July 9, 1956, in Concord, California. He attended Skyline High School in Oakland, California. He then studied theater at Chabot College in Hayward, California, and transferred to California State University, Sacramento after two years. He received a Kennedy Center Honor, in 2014 and Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2016. He also received the French Legion of Honor in 2016.
