Clockwise is a 1986 English-language Comedy film written by Michael Frayn and directed by Christopher Morahan and produced by Michael Codron under the banner of Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment. Brian Stimpson (John Cleese) is the headmaster of a comprehensive (high) school in England. He sets himself, his staff, and pupils very high standards. On the way to a conference at which he is to talk, all manner of disasters strike. Written by Rob Hartill. Clockwise features John Cleese in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Penelope Wilton, Alison Steadman, Stephen Moore, Sharon Maiden, Penny Leatherbarrow and Howard Lloyd-lewis. The music was composed by George Fenton. Cinematography was done by John Coquillon and editing by Peter Boyle. The motion picture has a running time of 96 minutes. It was released on 14th March 1986. Clockwise was made on a budget of £4 million and at the box office it grossed only $1 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Universal Pictures.
