Kahani Kismat Ki is a 1973 Hindi-language Action Drama movie written by Arjun Hingorani, K. A. Narayan and S.m. Abbas. The movie is directed by Arjun Hingorani and produced by Arjun Hingorani. Kahani kismat ki features Dharmendra in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Ajit, Rekha Ganesan, Rajendra Nath Malhotra, Sulochana Latkar, Jayshree T. and Ashoo. The music was composed by Kalyanji-anandji. Cinematography was done by Kishore Rege and editing by Anant Apte. It was released on 1st January 1973. Even after attaining a bachelor's degree, Ajit Sharma is unable to secure any employment. In frustration, he takes to robbery alongwith his father. But the police catch up to them, his father dies during the chase and Ajit is arrested and sentenced to a prison term of two years. After he completes his sentence, he vows to his mother to go straight but his criminal record renders futile all his efforts to secure a job. Then one day he wins some money in a wrestling match. He decides to buy some necessities for his family, which include a school-bag. Ajit returns the bag to the owner Premchand and a gratified Premchand employs him. Ajit falls for Premchand's daughter Rekha and their marriage is fixed. Then one day Ajit's doctor gives him shattering news: he has leukaemia and won't survive for long. Shattered, Ajit breaks off his engagement with Rekha. When Premchand comes to know the truth, he asks Ajit to commit a robbery for him so that Ajit's family's future will be secured by Ajit's share of the money.
