Shemat Khan a Kashmiri woman, daughter of an Indian Informer in Pakistan marries a Pakistani military officer. She is trained to become a RAW agent and spy on the Pakistan army during the Indo - Pak war 1971. The incidents that follow forms the theme of the story. Raazi a spy thriller was written and directed by Meghna Gulzar. It was produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Vineet Jain under their production banner Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures. The star cast includes Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Soni Razdan. The real Shemat passed away a month before the film’s release. Due to the Kashmir unrest, the movie could not be filmed there hence shifted to Mumbai where all the indoor scenes were shot in sets erected at the film city. This 2018 Hindi movie was skillfully captured by Jay. I. Patel and edited by Nitin Baid. Music was composed by Gulzar and Shankar- Eshaan - Loy. AA Films released on 11 May 2018. The movie was made on a budget of ₹38 crore and it was a super hit at the box office with a collection of ₹ 207 crores. The film occupies a screen time of 140 minutes.
