Soldier is a 1998 Hindi-language Action Drama motion picture written by Sachin Bhowmick, Shyam Goel and Javed Siddiqui. The movie is directed by Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla, Mastan Alibhai Burmawalla and Abbas-mustan and produced by Ramesh Sadhuram Taurani, Kumar Sadhuram Taurani, Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani. The story follows a young man (Bobby Deol) who flees India and arrives in Australia king vengence for something that started in India. In Australia he meets and falls in love with the daughter of a rich and powerful man(Suresh Oberoi). The story keeps the covers on Bobby Deols plan until the end when everything is revealed as to why he is a SOLDIER. Soldier features Bobby Deol in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Preity Zinta, Raakhee, Rakhee Gulzar, Farida Jalal, Johnny Lever and Suresh Oberoi. The screenplay is written by Sachin Bhowmick and Shyam Goel. The music was composed by Anu Malik along with Surinder Sodhi. Cinematography was done by Thomas Xavier and editing by Hussain Burmawala. It was released on 12th October 1998. The Film was successful at box office. Soldier was made on a budget of ₹8 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹21 crore. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Tips Music Films.
