Race the Sun is a 1996 English-language Adventure Comedy film written by Barry Morrow and directed by Charles T. Kanganis and produced by Richard Heus and Barry Morrow. A bunch of high school misfits in Hawaii, introduced by their new teacher, attend a science fair in which they draw up inspiration to build their own solar car and win a trip to compete in the 1990 World Solar Challenge in Australia. Race the sun features Halle Berry, Casey Affleck, Eliza Dushku, Kevin Tighe, James Belushi, Bill Hunter and Barte Shadlow. The music was composed by Graeme Revell. Cinematography was done by David Burr and editing by Wendy Greene Bricmont. The movie has a running time of 100 minutes. It was released on 22nd March 1996. The motion picture made a box office gross of $1 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by TriStar Pictures.
