Rock Star is a 2001 English-language Drama movie written by John Stockwell and directed by Stephen Herek and produced by Robert Lawrence and Toby Jaffe under the banner of Bel Air Entertainment in collaboration with Maysville. Lead singer of a tribute band becomes lead singer of the real band he idolizes. Rock star features Mark Wahlberg in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Flemyng, Timothy Olyphant, Timothy Spall, Dominic West and Jason Bonham. The music was composed by Trevor Rabin. Cinematography was done by Ueli Steiger and editing by Trudy Ship. The motion picture has a running time of 105 minutes. It was released on 7th September 2001.
