Soul Surfer is a 2011 English-language Biography Drama movie written by Sean Mcnamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz, Michael Berk, Matt Allen, Caleb Wilson, Brad Gann, Bethany Hamilton, Sheryl Berk and Rick Bundschuh. The movie is directed by Sean Mcnamara and produced by David Zelon, Douglas Schwartz, Dutch Hofstetter, David Brookwell and Sean Mcnamara under the banner of TriStar Pictures in collaboration with FilmDistrict, Mandalay Vision, Brookwell McNamara Entertainment, Island Film Group, Enticing Entertainment, Affirm Films and Life's a Beach Entertainment. Teenage surfer Bethany Hamilton overcomes the odds and her own fears of returning to the water after losing her left arm in a shark attack. Soul surfer stars Annasophia Robb in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Lorraine Nicholson, Carrie Underwood, Kevin Sorbo and Ross Thomas. The screenplay is written by Sean McNamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk which is inspired from Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith Family and Fighting to Get Back on the Board by Bethany Hamilton Sheryl Berk Rick Bundschuh.
