The Great Raid is a 2005 English-language Action Drama movie written by William B. Breuer, Hampton Sides, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro. The movie is directed by John Dahl and produced by Lawrence Bender and Marty Katz. Taking place towards the end of WWII, 500 American Soldiers have been entrapped in a camp for 3 years. Beginning to give up hope they will ever be rescued, a group of Rangers goes on a dangerous mission to try and save them. The great raid stars Benjamin Bratt, James Franco, Connie Nielsen, Marton Csokas, Joseph Fiennes, Robert Mammone and Matthew Wollaston. The music was composed by Trevor Rabin. Cinematography was done by Peter Menzies Jr. and editing by Scott Chestnut and Pietro Scalia. The movie has a running time of 132 minutes. The Great Raid was made on a budget of $80 million and at the box office it grossed only $10 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Miramax Films.
