The Trial is a 2014 Tagalog-language Crime Drama film written by Ricardo Lee, Enrico C. Santos, Kriz G. Gazmen and Kriz G.gazmen. The movie is directed by Chito S. Roño and Chito S. Rono and produced by Charo Santos-concio, Malou Santos and Marizel Samson Martinez under the banner of Star Cinema. A mentally-challenged guy was put into trial after allegedly raping his teacher. And as Amanda, Julian, and Ronald try to mount a convincing defense, they discover soon that they're all connected in ways than just the case. The trial stars John Lloyd Cruz in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Richard Gomez, Gretchen Barretto, Jessy Mendiola, Enrique Gil, Sylvia Sanchez and Vincent De Jesus. The screenplay is written by Enrico C. Santos and Kriz G.Gazmen. The music was composed by Cesar Francis Concio. It was released on 15th October 2014 in Tagalog and English languages. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₱55 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Star Cinema.
