The movie is directed by Sjuman Djaya and Sjumandjaja and produced by Sjumandjaja under the banner of Matari Artis Jaya Film. Kabut sutra ungu features Jenny Rachman, Roy Marten, Wahab Abdi, Zainal Abidin, Farouk Afero, Ully Artha and Robby Sugara. The film is based on Kabut Sutra Ungu by Ike Soepomo.
