The First Purge is a 2018 English-language Action Horror motion picture written by James Demonaco and directed by Gerard Mcmurray and produced by Michael Bay, James Demonaco, Jason Blum, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and S Bastien K. Lemercier. This horror/action-adventure film from director Gerard McMurray serves as a prequel that recounts events that led up to the first Purge event. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. The first purge features Y'lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Steve Harris, Mo Mcrae, Mugga and Corey Ronald Walter. The music was composed by Kevin Lax. Cinematography was done by Anastas Michos and editing by Jim Page. The movie has a running time of 97 minutes. It was released on 22nd August 2018. The Film was successful at box office. The First Purge was made on a budget of $13 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $137 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Universal Pictures.
