The Missing is a 2003 English-language Adventure Thriller film written by Stanley Caine, Janaki Sabesh, Thomas Eidson and Ken Kaufman. The movie is directed by Ron Howard and produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Daniel Ostroff under the banner of Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Revolution Studios and Imagine Entertainment. In 1885 New Mexico, a frontier medicine woman forms an uneasy alliance with her estranged father when her daughter is kidnapped by an Apache brujo. The missing features Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett, Evan Rachel Wood, Jenna Boyd, Eric Schweig, Aaron Eckhart and Chris Talley. The film is based on The Last Ride by Thomas Eidson. The music was composed by James Horner. Cinematography was done by Salvatore Totino and editing by Daniel P. Hanley and Mike Hill. The film has a running time of 137 minutes. It was released on 26th November 2003 in English,Spanish and Apache languages. The Missing was made on a budget of $60 million and at the box office it grossed only $13 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Sony Pictures Releasing.
