The Mexican is a 2001 English-language Adventure Comedy film written by J.h. Wyman and directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Christopher Ball, John Baldecchi and Lawrence Bender under the banner of Newmarket Films. A man tries to transport an ancient gun called The Mexican, believed to carry a curse, back across the border, while his girlfriend pressures him to give up his criminal ways. The mexican stars Julia Roberts in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, J. K. Simmons, J.k. Simmons, Bob Balaban and Sherman Augustus. The music was composed by Alan Silvestri. Cinematography was done by Darius Wolski and editing by Craig Wood. The movie has a running time of 123 minutes. It was released on 2nd March 2001.
