Ate is a 2008 Tagalog-language Drama motion picture written by Peque Gallaga and Gina Marissa Tagasa. The movie is directed by Lore Reyes and Joe Wright and produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Paul Webster under the banner of StudioCanal in collaboration with Working Title Films. Helen (Ara Mina) and Dave (Paolo Paraiso) are a happy couple, but their relationship is tested when Helen's younger sister Cleo (Cristine Reyes) comes into the picture. Ate features James Mcavoy in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Keira Knightley, Saoirse Ronan, Romola Garai, Vanessa Redgrave, Ara Mina and Cristine Reyes. The screenplay is written by Christopher Hampton which is inspired from Atonement by Ian McEwan. The music was composed by Dario Marianelli.
