Flop-E is a 2012 Mandarin-language Drama film written by Liu Heng and directed by Zhang Yimou and produced by William Kong, David Linde, Zhang Weiping, Zhang Yimou and Brandt Andersen under the banner of EDKO Film in collaboration with Beijing New Picture Film and New Picture Company. Flop-e features Christian Bale, Ni Ni, Zhang Xinyi, Tong Dawei, Atsuro Watabe, Shigeo Kobayashi and Srijit Mukherji. The film is based on 13 Flowers of Nanjing by Geling Yan. The music was composed by Qigang Chen. Cinematography was done by Zhao Xiaoding and editing by Peicong Meng. The film has a running time of 146 minutes. It was released on 24th February 2012 in Mandarin , English and Japanese languages. Flop-E was made on a budget of $94 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $95 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by EDKO Film.
